A Legacy of Gathering

Since 1824, our historic property along Ridge Road has been a place of hospitality and connection. Originally known as the Fairhaven House, it began as a stagecoach stop, offering travelers a place to rest before continuing their journey between the Genesee and Niagara Rivers. Over a century later, it became Tillman’s Village Inn, a beloved dining destination where generations gathered for Sunday dinners, milestone celebrations, and community events.

When Tillman’s Village Inn closed in 2021, it marked the end of an era—but not the end of its story. With a deep appreciation for its history and a vision for the future, the property underwent a thoughtful transformation. Today, the restaurant carries on as Tavern on the Ridge, offering a renewed dining experience, while the inn and event spaces have been reimagined as Fairhaven Inn & Events—a place where timeless charm meets modern hospitality, creating the perfect setting for weddings, special occasions, and weekend stays.

A Vision Built on Thoughtful Details

For Laura Bentley, the Fairhaven wasn’t just a business idea—it was a journey nearly a decade in the making. What started in 2015 as a passion for collecting antique wedding décor turned into something much bigger. Her love for curating timeless pieces grew so large, she built a barn just to store them—eventually running a full-scale rental business for three years. By 2019, it had outgrown what she could manage alone, sparking the vision for a dedicated venue—one that could bring her passion to life in a lasting way.

That dream became reality in 2022, when she purchased the historic Tillman’s Village Inn, seeing its unmatched potential as an inclusive wedding venue—a place where couples could not only celebrate but also stay. The first step? Renovating the motel, which was transformed into a beautifully designed inn, welcoming guests by March 2022.

But the Fairhaven story isn’t finished yet. With plans to further develop the property by 2026, Laura’s vision continues to unfold—building a place where history, hospitality, and heartfelt celebrations come together in a way that feels truly timeless.

Gone are the heavy floral patterns and dim lighting—now, each space feels fresh and welcoming, with natural tones, rich wood accents, and thoughtfully chosen furnishings that add modern comfort. The bathrooms have been fully updated, featuring walk-in spa showers, elegant fixtures, and refined finishes that create a more relaxing, elevated experience. Every detail has been chosen with purpose, transforming the inn from a simple place to stay into a charming boutique getaway designed for both comfort and celebratory style.

  • We believe hosting an event should be as effortless as it is memorable. With 14+ hours of venue access, couples can enjoy their day without feeling rushed. The venue accommodates up to 160 guests and is surrounded by five acres of scenic land, perfect for capturing timeless photos while enjoying privacy.

    The reception space features sleek black Chiavari chairs, round tables draped in luxury linens, and real glassware, creating a refined and inviting atmosphere. ADA-compliant restrooms, private bathrooms, and ample parking add to the ease of the day.

    Our day-of event coordinator ensures every detail runs smoothly, working with your caterer, florist, and photographer so you can focus on celebrating. Couples can choose from our trusted vendors or bring their own to personalize their event. With onsite ceremony options, curated décor selections, and a comfortable bridal suite for a one- or two-night stay, our venue is designed for effortless, beautiful gatherings.
